X4 Foundations: Boarding Tips
Boarding tips;
To begin, use a M class corvette as a personal ship [Nemesis will be nice].
You can get one other ship or two with large crew capacity for marines.
Scan your target.
First destroy engines personally to keep other ships away.
Next, destroy turrets yourself.
Once engines and turrets are destroyed, invite other ships to aid get shields down.
Go ahead and tell the other ships to get lost.
You have to destroy some of the large shields while leaving at least one.
Get hull below 75% and keep peppering the target to keep shields above 1% but below 25%. This action will cause crew to bail. It is a slow but reliable way to reduce boarding resistance.
Once enough veteran marines have bailed and you are sure you’ll have an easy fight, only then you can tell your ship with marines to start boarding op.
Lastly, turn off the turrets of AI controlled ships to prevent them from causing damage to the hull and potentially destroying the targeted object.
